The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie | Introducing Festival 2020 | Chichester Festival Theatre

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is probably
Muriel Spark’s most famous novel. It went on, of course, to be a famous film starring
Maggie Smith and this is a wonderful play, a big play on our main stage.
It tells the story of an inspirational, unconventional teacher and perhaps also touches on the influence
and impact those figures can have on our lives from an early age. Rachel Kavanaugh is returning
to Chichester to direct following her major success last season with Shadowlands starring
Hugh Bonneville. And this play requires a large ensemble of
young girls, and we’re lucky in Chichester that we have a brilliant youth theatre and
it’s, of course, from that pool of people that we’ll be finding those girls that will
be at the heart of this production.
